Spain

I guess my first visit to Spain was to Torremolionos, Malaga at the Costa del Sol with my parents. We even drove as far south as La Linea and I remember seeing Gibraltar from a far.

Later I returned during a travel with friends from school with an European Interrrail Pass. I have to admit that I forgot most of that travel – not because it was bad! An exception are the days we spend in Huelva, because of a train union strike. It was my first travel with a backpack.

In my twenties I went windsurfing with friends around easter to Ampuria Brava at the east coast of Spain near Barcelona. Our focus was windsurfing at the time, but we managed to visit the house of Picasso and the Picasso Museum.
Tarifa near Gibraltar around Sylvester was a memorable challenge. I never surfed in taller waves, given that I was used to the IJsselmeer in the Netherlands.
After that Spain was for no clear reason of the list. In 2016 Claudia and I returned to a Spanish outpost – Lanzarote.

In 2018 a very good friend of mine asked me if I would join him visting the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao – so we went. Was it worth it? Read it here

On our list is definitely Córdoba and Sevilla – we will see.

Hasta luego!
Safe travels!
